Americans eat 1.6 billion gallons of ice cream per year. If we had to guess, we think it might have been more during 2020 — but who’s counting? Although National Ice Cream Day isn’t officially until July 18, every day is the perfect day for a scoop. These locally owned ice cream shops near your Manassas apartment home would love to have your business!

Nathan’s Dairy Bar

Just two miles from your apartment home at The Elms at Signal Station, Nathan’s Dairy Bar is a hotspot where locals like to cool off. You can choose from soft serve or hand-scooped ice cream. There are tons of toppings to choose from, including pretzels, cookie dough, Nutella, and more. You can create your own sundae or shakes too.

Nathan’s Dairy Bar is located at 8948 Mathis Avenue and is open for take out. There is currently no patio seating.

Jitterbug’s Ice Cream Café

The Elms at Signal Station is just three miles from Jitterbug’s Ice Cream Cafe. Located in Old Town Manassas, Jitterbug’s has cute retro decor and even has a jukebox inside. They proudly serve award-winning ice cream from Gifford’s. Flavors like Campfire S’mores and Maine Wild Blueberry can be found here.

Jitterbug’s is located at 9125 Center Street. The take-out window is open and Door Dash is available.

Peterson’s Ice Cream Depot

It’s about an 18-minute drive to Peterson’s Ice Cream Depot, but it’s totally worth it. They’ve won Best Ice Cream Shop in Northern Virginia three times. Peterson’s has created 30 different flavors of their homemade ice cream in Manassas; twelve flavors are available each day. If you bring your four-legged friend, it will get a free pup cup (mini vanilla ice cream). If you’re craving something other than dessert, order a hot dog or pulled pork BBQ sandwich.

The resort-style outdoor amenities at The Elms at Signal Hill Station create the perfect place to relax on a hot summer day, or you can stay inside with your ice cream and virtually explore the National Postal Museum. If you’re looking for a new place to call home in Manassas, Virginia, contact us. One of our friendly leasing agents would love to schedule a tour either in-person or virtually.
